Red Velvet Gooey Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 cups of white sugar.
02 - 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder.
03 - 1/2 teaspoon salt.
04 - 2 teaspoons of baking powder.
05 - 2 and 1/4 cups of plain flour.
06 - 8 ounces of cream cheese, softened to room temperature.
07 - 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter, room temperature.
08 - 1 egg, large.
09 - A teaspoon of vanilla essence.
10 - 1 tablespoon of red food dye.
11 - Half a cup of icing sugar.

# Instructions:

01 - Stir all the dry ingredients together.
02 - Blend cream cheese and butter until there are no lumps.
03 - Toss in the egg, the food dye, and the vanilla.
04 - Gently incorporate the dry mix into the wet mixture.
05 - Refrigerate the cookie dough for at least 2 hours.
06 - Roll the dough balls in icing sugar.
07 - Pop them in the oven at 350°F for 10–12 minutes.
08 - Let the cookies cool completely before eating.

# Notes:

01 - Dough needs to be chilled before baking.
02 - Make sure your ingredients are at room temperature.
03 - Gel-based food coloring is a better pick.
04 - Keep them fresh up to 3 days.
