# Ingredients:

→ Bars

01 - 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
02 - 3/4 cup granulated sugar
03 - 1 cup softened butter
04 - 2 large eggs
05 - 1 tsp vanilla extract
06 - 1 tsp salt
07 - 1 tsp baking soda
08 - 2 1/4 cups plain flour
09 - 2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet)

→ Caramel Sauce

10 - 1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
11 - 5 oz of evaporated milk
12 - 14 oz bag of soft caramels

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 375°F and coat a 9x13 pan with grease or spray.
02 - Whisk the salt, flour, and baking soda in a small bowl. In a bigger bowl, cream together the butter, sugars, and vanilla until fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing after each. Slowly fold in the dry ingredients, then gently stir in the chocolate chips.
03 - Spread half the dough evenly in the greased pan. Pop it into the oven for 8-10 minutes. Take it out to cool a bit.
04 - As the first layer bakes, heat the caramels and milk in a double boiler until smooth. Stir in the peanut butter. Once melted, spread it over the baked cookie layer.
05 - Drop spoonfuls of the rest of the cookie dough on top of the caramel layer. Spread it out gently.
06 - Bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the top turns a light golden shade.
