Grinch Cookies Delightful Treat (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 432 grams of mix for white cake (15.25 ounces).
02 - 8 tablespoons of butter (unsalted), softened.
03 - Two large eggs, make sure they're at room temperature.
04 - Two teaspoons of peppermint or mint extract.
05 - Half a teaspoon of vanilla extract.
06 - Gel-based green food coloring.
07 - 32 grams (¼ cup) of powdered sugar.
08 - 3 tablespoons of cornstarch.
09 - Heart-shaped red sprinkles or small cinnamon decorations.

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 190°C (375°F). Cover a large baking tray with paper for a non-stick surface.
02 - Grab a large bowl and beat together the white cake mix, softened butter, and room-temp eggs until you've got a smooth batter. You can use an electric hand or a stand mixer.
03 - Pour in the peppermint/mint extract, vanilla extract, and enough green gel food coloring to get the shade of green you want. Mix slowly until everything’s combined, and the color is evenly spread.
04 - In a small bowl, stir together powdered sugar and cornstarch until well blended.
05 - Scoop out 1 ½ tablespoons of dough at a time. Roll these into balls, then coat fully in the powdered sugar mix. Space them out about an inch apart on the prepared baking tray.
06 - Pop the cookies in the oven. Let them bake for around 10 to 12 minutes. Keep an eye on them—they're done when the edges set and the tops look dry.
07 - Once out of the oven and still warm, lightly press a red heart sprinkle or cinnamon decoration in the center of each cookie.
08 - Let the cookies cool on the baking tray for about 5 minutes. Then move them to a wire rack to finish cooling completely.

# Notes:

01 - You can store these cookies in a container with a tight lid at room temperature for up to four days.
02 - Want to freeze them? Cool completely first, then put them in freezer-safe bags. They'll last about two months frozen.
03 - You can swap out the heart-shaped sprinkles for cinnamon hearts if you like an extra kick of flavor.
