Buttery Cookie Treats (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 225g (1 cup) of room-temp unsalted butter.
02 - 155g (3/4 cup) of sugar.
03 - One large egg.
04 - Around a teaspoon of vanilla.
05 - Teaspoon of almond flavoring.
06 - 293g (2 1/4 cups) of plain flour.
07 - Half a teaspoon of salt.
08 - Optional red food coloring gel.
09 - Optional green food coloring gel.
10 - Your choice of sprinkles.

# Instructions:

01 - Set the oven to 350°F (180°C) and use silicone baking mats to line your trays. Skip parchment, cookies need to stick a little.
02 - In a big mixing bowl, whip the butter and sugar together for around 3 to 4 minutes on medium speed, until it’s pale and fluffy.
03 - Crack in the egg and mix until smooth. Add the almond and vanilla flavorings and blend again until everything’s mixed in.
04 - Toss in the flour and salt and stir until it just starts coming together. Use a spatula to finish if needed, but don’t overdo it.
05 - If you’re using colors, split the dough into sections. Mix in the gel coloring slowly to get the right shade.
06 - Pop the dough into a cookie press and follow its instructions to shape them. Press cookies straight onto the baking tray—they can be pretty close since they don’t spread.
07 - If you want, sprinkle decorations over the cookies now.
08 - Put the cookies in the oven for about 5–8 minutes. For softer cookies, aim for 5 minutes.
09 - Let the cookies sit on the trays for 4-5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack until they’re completely cool.

# Notes:

01 - Parchment paper won’t work, use silicone mats.
02 - You can add food coloring gel for fun.
03 - Store in an airtight container, good for about a week.
