Almond Croissants (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/2 cup sliced almonds.
02 - 6 croissants.
03 - 1/4 cup water.
04 - 1/4 cup granulated sugar.
05 - 1 tablespoon dark rum or 1 teaspoon vanilla.
06 - 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt.
07 - 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour.
08 - 1 large egg.
09 - 1/2 teaspoon almond extract.
10 - 1 cup almond flour.
11 - Powdered sugar for dusting.
12 - 1 cup powdered sugar.
13 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened.

# Instructions:

01 - Warm up your oven to 350°F and get a baking sheet ready.
02 - Combine sugar, water, and rum in a saucepan. Let the sugar melt.
03 - Whisk together almond flour, regular flour, and salt for the frangipane.
04 - Beat butter and powdered sugar to make it creamy.
05 - Mix the egg and almond extract into the butter blend.
06 - Carefully stir the dry ingredients into the butter mix till it's smooth.
07 - Cut the croissants open in half and coat them with syrup.
08 - Spoon about 2.5 tablespoons of frangipane into each croissant.
09 - Put 1.5 tablespoons of frangipane on top and scatter almond slices on them.
10 - Bake them for 20 minutes or till the almonds turn golden.

# Notes:

01 - They’re best enjoyed on the day they’re made.
02 - The frangipane can be made ahead of time.
03 - Make sure butter is at room temp.
04 - Store the croissants at room temperature.
