Saltine Cracker Toffee (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 stick of butter, cut into smaller cubes.
02 - 1 package of salted crackers (about 48 pieces).
03 - 1 cup of packed brown sugar.
04 - A third of a cup of chopped pecans, or other toppings of your choice.
05 - 2 cups of tiny semi-sweet chocolate chips.

# Instructions:

01 - Turn on your oven and set it to 190°C (375°F). Cover a baking tray with foil and coat with cooking spray.
02 - Lay out the crackers side by side on the prepared tray in a single layer.
03 - Heat up the butter and brown sugar on the stove until it bubbles and turns a caramel color, roughly 3 minutes.
04 - Drizzle that warm caramel over the crackers and spread it out evenly.
05 - Pop it into the oven for about 7 to 8 minutes, or until it’s good and bubbly.
06 - Sprinkle the chocolate chips on top of the hot caramel right when it comes out.
07 - After the chocolate softens, smooth it out with a spatula.
08 - Sprinkle chopped pecans or any topping you’d prefer on top.
09 - Place it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours so it hardens properly.
10 - Break it into chunks or pieces and enjoy.
