Turn the heat down to a simmer. Let it gently cook for 20-30 minutes, letting the flavors deepen and the liquid reduce to half.

Stir in the salt. Gradually pour in the milk and turn up the heat to bring everything back to a boil. Keep stirring while the tea turns pink.
