Put the peach slices, 3/4 cup of sugar, and a pinch of salt in a pan. Give them a good stir so they're coated.

Heat the mixture on medium until the sugar melts and the peaches release their juices. Take off the heat and set it aside.

Get your oven going at 175°C (or 350°F). While it’s preheating, slice up the butter and put it in a glass baking dish (9x13 inches). Pop the dish in the oven to melt the butter.

In a big bowl, stir together the flour, a cup of sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Pour in the milk and mix just until smooth.

When the butter’s melted, take the dish out of the oven. Pour the batter on top, spreading it out evenly.

Drop the peaches and all their juicy syrup over the batter. Sprinkle the top generously with cinnamon.

Bake for about 38-40 minutes, or until the top is golden. Serve warm, and hey, a bit of ice cream wouldn’t hurt, right?
