Apple Brie Pastry (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Components

01 - 1 wheel of creamy brie cheese
02 - 1 thawed sheet of frozen puff pastry
03 - 2 tablespoons of fig preserves or apple butter
04 - 2 Honeycrisp apples, sliced up

→ Coating & Glazing

05 - 3 tablespoons of maple syrup
06 - Coarse sugar for sprinkling
07 - 3 tablespoons salted butter
08 - 1 beaten egg

→ Garnish

09 - A few fresh thyme sprigs

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 220°C (425°F) and let it preheat.
02 - Toss the apple slices with the butter and maple syrup in a baking dish. Pop it in the oven and roast for 25 minutes until soft and caramelized.
03 - Lay the puff pastry out flat on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Put the brie in the middle and cut away a little bit of the rind from the top. Keep the rind on the sides and bottom. Spread apple butter or fig preserves across the top.
04 - Pull the corners of the pastry up and fold them over the brie. Brush the outside with the beaten egg and give it a light sprinkle of coarse sugar.
05 - Bake in the oven for about 20–25 minutes or until the pastry turns a deep golden color.
06 - Spoon those roasted apples on top of the baked brie. Add a couple of thyme sprigs and enjoy as-is or pair with crackers.
