Sausage Pancake Casserole (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Components

01 - 240 ml whole milk
02 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
03 - 450 g mild or spicy breakfast sausage
04 - 240 g pancake mix
05 - 1 large egg
06 - 2 tablespoons melted butter
07 - 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup (optional)
08 - 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
09 - 115 g shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
10 - Cooking spray or softened butter for greasing

# Instructions:

01 - Turn your oven on to 190°C and let it heat up completely.
02 - Coat all corners of a 23x33 cm baking dish lightly using either butter or cooking spray.
03 - Break apart the sausage into crumbles while cooking in a skillet on medium heat. Keep stirring until browned. Get rid of any extra grease.
04 - Mix pancake mix, milk, egg, vanilla, melted butter, maple syrup, and cinnamon in a roomy bowl. Stir just until mixed, keeping the batter slightly clumpy. Don't worry about making it smooth.
05 - Pour half the pancake batter into your greased dish. Scatter the cooked sausage evenly over it. Sprinkle cheese on top if using. Spread the rest of the batter to completely cover everything.
06 - Bake in the middle of your oven for 25 to 30 minutes. It's ready when the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean after poking the center.
07 - Before slicing, let the bake cool for about 5 minutes. Serve warm, and add syrup if you'd like!

# Notes:

01 - Make sure your oven is fully warmed up to cook things evenly.
