Nutella Pastry Hearts (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ For the Dough

01 - ½ cup of Nutella
02 - 1 egg (for brushing on top)
03 - 1 tablespoon water (to mix with egg)
04 - 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)

→ Optional Toppings

05 - Fresh berries
06 - Powdered sugar
07 - Whipped cream

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and cover a baking tray with parchment paper.
02 - Take the puff pastry, roll it out to soften, and cut out hearts with a knife or a cookie cutter.
03 - Arrange the heart-shaped pieces on the lined tray and stick them in the fridge for 10 minutes so they hold their form.
04 - Spoon roughly 1 tablespoon of Nutella onto the middle of half the hearts, leaving space clean on the edges.
05 - Place a plain heart-shaped piece over each filled one. Seal the edges by pressing down. You can crimp them with a fork if you like.
06 - Whisk the egg with a little water, then brush this mixture lightly on top of the assembled pastries.
07 - Pop the tray into the oven for 15-18 minutes, until they puff up and turn golden brown. Let them cool for a bit before eating.
08 - Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with whipped cream or berries if you feel like it.

# Notes:

01 - Tastes best when warm
02 - Homemade or store-bought pastry both work fine
