Soft Baked Donuts (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
02 - 1/4 teaspoon table salt
03 - 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
04 - 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder
05 - 1/2 cup regular granulated sugar
06 - 2 tablespoons melted butter (unsalted)
07 - 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
08 - 1 large egg
09 - 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
10 - 1 cup all-purpose flour
11 - 1/2 cup buttermilk or milk with 1/2 teaspoon vinegar added to it
12 - Optional finishes: powdered sugar, sprinkles, or glaze

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly coat your donut pan with a bit of spray to stop sticking.
02 - Grab a big bowl and stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until it’s all mixed up evenly.
03 - In a different bowl, beat the egg, buttermilk, vanilla, and melted butter until it’s smooth and well combined.
04 - Pour the wet mix into the bowl with the dry stuff and gently fold them together. Don’t overdo it—the batter should still have some lumps.
05 - Transfer the batter into a piping bag (or use a zip-lock bag with the tip cut off) and squeeze it into each donut mold, filling about 2/3 of the way up.
06 - Put the pan in the preheated oven and let it bake for about 8–10 minutes, or until a toothpick poked into a donut comes out without batter, and the edges look golden.
07 - Once out of the oven, let the donuts sit in the pan for 5 minutes before carefully transferring them to a wire rack so they can cool completely.
08 - If you’d like, make a glaze by blending 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons milk, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Dip the donuts in or sprinkle with sugar or add your favorite toppings.
09 - Eat the donuts warm or let them cool off first. They’re awesome as a snack or even a sweet breakfast treat!
