→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 cup granulated sugar
02 - 1 cup butter (2 sticks)
03 - 2 cups Rice Krispie cereal
04 - 3/4 cup corn syrup
05 - 4 cups rice or corn Chex cereal
06 - 1 teaspoon chili powder
07 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
08 - Colored sugar sprinkles (if you'd like)
09 - 1 cup cashews
10 - 2 cups Fritos chips
11 - 2 teaspoons cinnamon
12 - 1/2-1 teaspoon cayenne pepper, based on your spice preference
13 - 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

# Instructions:

01 - Grab a baking sheet, cover it with parchment paper, and put it to the side.
02 - In a big mixing bowl, toss together the cereal, Fritos, and cashews. Use an extra bowl if one isn't big enough.
03 - Melt the butter in a small pot along with the sugar, corn syrup, chili powder, cayenne, and cinnamon. Let it bubble gently over medium heat for 2-3 minutes. Take it off the heat, stir in the baking soda, and keep mixing until it's light and foamy.
04 - Pour the caramel mixture over the dry mix and toss everything together until it's all coated.
05 - Spread the coated mix onto the lined baking sheet. Sprinkle with colored sugar if you'd like to add a splash of fun.
06 - Let it chill on the sheet for about an hour. Once it's completely cool, break it up into smaller chunks.
07 - Place the finished mix in a container with a tight lid for storage.
