Husband Budget Casserole (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main

01 - 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
02 - 2 cups pasta (rotini or elbow macaroni), cooked and drained
03 - 1 (10 oz) can cream of mushroom soup
04 - Salt and pepper as needed
05 - ½ cup sour cream
06 - Fresh parsley (chopped, optional for topping)
07 - 1 lb ground beef
08 - 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
09 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
10 - 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
11 - 1 small onion, finely chopped

# Instructions:

01 - Turn your oven on to 350°F (175°C). Lightly coat a 9x13-inch dish with a bit of oil or butter.
02 - In a big skillet, cook the onion and beef together until browned and the onion softens. Toss out extra grease and mix in garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
03 - Combine the tomato sauce, sour cream, and cream of mushroom soup with the seasoned beef. Stir until everything's warm and blended.
04 - Put half your cooked pasta into the prepared dish. Then, layer with half the meat mixture and cheddar cheese. Do another layer the same way with the rest of the ingredients.
05 - Spread the shredded mozzarella all over the top.
06 - Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Take off the foil and let it bake another 10 minutes or until the cheese is gooey and bubbly.

# Notes:

01 - Swap ground beef with turkey or chicken, if you'd like.
02 - Cream of chicken soup makes a good replacement for mushroom.
