Homemade Cheesy Breadsticks Gooey (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Breadstick Base

01 - ½ cup lukewarm water
02 - 1 teaspoon active yeast
03 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
04 - 1 ½ cups plain flour
05 - 1 teaspoon sugar
06 - ¾ teaspoon salt
07 - 1 tablespoon garlic powder (optional)

→ Toppings

08 - ½ cup parmesan, grated
09 - 2 cups mozzarella, shredded
10 - 1 teaspoon Italian herb blend or oregano (optional)
11 - 2 tablespoons melted butter

# Instructions:

01 - Combine yeast, sugar, and warm water in a small bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes till it starts bubbling up. In a big bowl, mix the flour and salt together. Add the olive oil and yeast mixture to the flour. Stir until everything combines into a dough. Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes by hand or use a dough hook in a mixer. Cover with a damp cloth and leave it for 15 minutes to rest.
02 - Heat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Toss some olive oil on a baking tray or line it with parchment. Roll the dough out into a rectangle measuring about 9×13 inches. Slice it into 12 strips using a pizza cutter or knife.
03 - Place the dough strips onto the tray. Butter the tops with the melted butter and sprinkle garlic powder, if you like. Scatter the mozzarella and parmesan cheeses generously over the strips. For extra flavor, add some herbs or seasoning.
04 - Pop the tray into the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or till the breadsticks turn golden and the cheese is bubbly. Let them cool for a few minutes before breaking apart and enjoying.

# Notes:

01 - Brush the surface with olive oil before baking for a crispier finish.
02 - Keep the dough rolled out evenly for consistent baking.
03 - Spice it up with extras like chili flakes or crumbled bacon.
