Homemade Caramel Sauce (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 3 tablespoons unsalted butter.
02 - 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract.
03 - 3/4 cup crème fraîche entière (heavy cream in France).
04 - 1/4 cup water.
05 - 1 cup granulated sugar.

# Instructions:

01 - Combine sugar and water in a small pot. Heat over medium, swirling occasionally, until the sugar is dissolved and turns a golden caramel color.
02 - Slowly whisk in crème fraîche entière. The mixture might froth and bubble intensely, but keep whisking until smooth.
03 - Mix in the butter and vanilla, whisking until fully combined. Use the caramel for whatever you like!

# Notes:

01 - For salted caramel, stir in 1 teaspoon of fleur de sel at the very end.
