Grilled Cheese Sheet Pan (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 8 thick slices of sourdough or white bread.
02 - 1/2 cup soft unsalted butter.
03 - 8 ounces shredded sharp cheddar cheese.
04 - 4 ounces grated Gruyère cheese.
05 - 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated (optional).

# Instructions:

01 - Set oven to 400°F and cover a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Coat one side of each bread slice evenly with softened butter.
03 - If you want, sprinkle Parmesan over the buttered sides and press gently to stick it.
04 - Put 4 slices down with the buttered side facing down, layer cheese on top, and cover with the other slices butter-side up.
05 - Bake on the lowest rack for 4-5 minutes, flip the sandwiches, and bake another 2-3 minutes until crispy and golden.
06 - Let cool a bit before cutting and enjoying.

# Notes:

01 - Cooking on the low rack helps things brown evenly.
02 - Make sure every bit of the bread's edge gets buttered.
03 - Allow sandwiches to cool slightly before slicing.
