Easy Chocolate Cake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup (200g) white sugar
02 - 1½ cups (187g) plain flour
03 - 1 teaspoon baking soda
04 - ¼ cup (29.5g) cocoa powder (unsweetened)
05 - 1 teaspoon vinegar (white)
06 - 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
07 - ½ teaspoon salt (kosher)
08 - ⅓ cup cooking oil
09 - 1 cup (237g) water

→ Frosting Ingredients

10 - 3 tablespoons softened butter (unsalted)
11 - 1 cup (125g) powdered sugar
12 - 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
13 - 3 tablespoons milk or heavy cream
14 - 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
15 - 1 tablespoon honey

# Instructions:

01 - Heat the oven to 350°F. Either grease an 8x8 pan or line it with parchment paper.
02 - Combine the flour, sugar, baking soda, cocoa powder, and salt in a big bowl. Whisk it all together to mix.
03 - Add your water, vanilla, oil, and vinegar into the dry mix. Stir everything until smooth with a whisk or spatula.
04 - Pour the batter into your prepared pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Use a toothpick; if just a few crumbs stick, it's ready! Let it cool.
05 - Grab an electric mixer. Blend the cocoa powder, butter, vanilla, honey, and powdered sugar on low for half a minute.
06 - Keep mixing while you slowly add in the milk, one spoonful at a time, till you get the texture you like. Spread it over the cake once it's cool.
