Quarter Cheese Spread (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 package (8 ounces) of cream cheese, left at room temperature to soften.
02 - 1 clove garlic, minced very finely.
03 - 2 tablespoons of grated onion.
04 - 1/4 cup of cubed unsalted butter.
05 - 1/4 cup of tightly packed brown sugar.
06 - 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce.
07 - 1/2 teaspoon of bold brown mustard.
08 - 3/4 cup of pecans, toasted and chopped into small pieces.
09 - A variety of hearty crackers for serving.

# Instructions:

01 - Mix the cream cheese, garlic, and onion in a small bowl until smooth and blended. Place it on a serving dish, shaping it into a 6-inch circle. Wrap it with plastic and refrigerate for an hour. Let it warm up a little before adding the pecan topping.
02 - In a small pot, stir together the butter, mustard, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce over medium heat. Keep stirring for about 2-3 minutes until the sugar is melted. Take it off the heat, then mix in the pecans.
03 - Let the pecan mixture sit for a few minutes to cool slightly. Pour it over the cream cheese disk, letting it spill down the edges.
04 - Bring out the crackers and serve right away.

# Notes:

01 - You can prepare the cheese mixture in advance.
02 - Pour the warm pecan topping just before eating.
