Creamy Sausage Bow Tie Pasta (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Pasta and Protein

01 - 1 pound mild Italian sausage (take off the casings)
02 - 12 ounces bow tie pasta

→ Produce

03 - Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
04 - 1 cup spinach leaves, sliced into thin pieces
05 - 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
06 - 1/2 cup onion, diced

→ Sauce

07 - 1/2 teaspoon optional red pepper flakes
08 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
09 - 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
10 - 28 ounces canned plum tomatoes, chopped and drained

# Instructions:

01 - Boil a big pot of water. Follow the directions on the box to cook the pasta, then drain it.
02 - In a large pan, heat olive oil. Crumble the sausage as it cooks over medium-high heat, adding the red pepper if you'd like. Cook it until it's browned.
03 - Toss in garlic and onion with the sausage. Stir it around until the onion's soft.
04 - Pour in the tomatoes and heavy cream. Let it gently simmer and thicken for about 10 minutes.
05 - Mix in the spinach and let it cook for 3 minutes. Add the pasta to the pan and combine everything. Sprinkle parsley on top if you want.

01 - Feel free to pick any type of Italian sausage (like sweet, spicy, or mild)
02 - Take the sausage out of the casings before you cook it
03 - Leftovers warm up really well
