02 - 1/2 pound shrimp, finely chopped after peeling and deveining
03 - 2 green onions, chopped small
04 - 1/2 pound lump crab meat, checked for shell pieces
05 - 1 large egg
06 - 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, minced
07 - 1/4 cup mayonnaise
08 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
09 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
10 - 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
11 - 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
12 - Salt and pepper as needed
13 - 1 small red bell pepper, chopped finely
14 - 2-3 tablespoons olive oil for frying
15 - 1/4 cup flour for coating

→ Sauce (Tartar)

16 - 1/2 cup mayonnaise
17 - 1 tablespoon chopped dill pickle
18 - Salt and pepper for taste
19 - 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
20 - 1 tablespoon lemon juice
21 - 1 teaspoon chopped fresh dill (optional)
22 - 1 tablespoon chopped capers

# Instructions:

01 - In a bowl big enough for mixing, gently combine crab meat, shrimp, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, egg, onions, bell pepper, parsley, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay, garlic powder, and season everything with salt and pepper.
02 - Make between 8 and 10 patties, keeping them around half an inch thick. Lay them out on a baking sheet with parchment and stick them in the fridge for 30 minutes or so. This helps firm them up.
03 - Stir mayonnaise, lemon juice, chopped capers, pickle, Dijon mustard, and dill (if you want) in a small bowl. Sprinkle in a pinch of salt and pepper to suit your taste. Cover and refrigerate for later.
04 - Pour olive oil into a pan big enough for frying and heat it to medium-high.
05 - Dust the patties with flour, shaking off any extra bits. Fry them a few at a time for 3 or 4 minutes per side, just until they’re golden and cooked all the way through. Add more oil if the pan dries out between batches, and don't crowd them!
06 - Set your finished patties on paper towels to soak up any extra oil. Serve the hot shrimp and crab cakes with tartar sauce on the side and maybe some lemon slices. These go great with roasted veggies or a fresh salad.

# Notes:

01 - Chilling the patties makes sure they don’t fall apart when frying.
02 - Keeping space between patties in the pan helps them cook evenly.
