Turn the oven on to 180°C (350°F). Coat three 9-inch round cake pans with grease then dust them with flour.

Stir together cocoa powder, sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt in a big bowl. Add in milk, eggs, and vanilla; mix until you get a smooth batter.

Split the batter evenly between the prepared pans.

Slide the pans into the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes. The layers are done when a toothpick comes out clean.

Take the pans out of the oven and leave them to sit for 10 minutes. Then move the layers to a rack and let them cool down all the way.

Use a double boiler to melt the chocolate chips, then mix in the heavy cream until it’s glossy and smooth.

Put one cake layer on a plate. Cover it with ganache, then whipped cream. Repeat this stacking for the other layers.

Put whipped cream on top and sprinkle with nuts or chocolate shavings. It’s ready to serve!
