Get your oven ready at 175°C and line baking trays with baking paper.

Whisk together the sugar, butter, and shortening until the mixture is smooth and creamy (takes about 2 minutes).

Stir in vanilla, mint, and mix in each egg one at a time.

Gradually add flour, baking soda, and salt while mixing at low speed.

Fold in the crushed peppermint candies and chocolate chips.

Shape dough into balls using about 1 to 1.5 tablespoons of batter per ball.

Arrange the dough balls on the trays with a gap of 5 cm between each.
