Sweet Cherry Iced Tea (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Cherry Syrup from Scratch

01 - ⅓ cup white sugar
02 - 1 teaspoon extract with vanilla flavor
03 - ½ teaspoon optional cake batter flavoring
04 - 1 teaspoon buttery flavoring
05 - 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
06 - Pinch of table salt
07 - 1 cup cherries, frozen and pitted
08 - ¼ cup plain water

→ Iced Cherry Pie Tea

09 - For topping: whole cherries
10 - 2 cups plain unsweetened black tea
11 - 4 tablespoons made-at-home cherry syrup

# Instructions:

01 - Combine water, sugar, frozen cherries, and a little salt in a pan over heat. Let the cherries soften as you stir and smash them, cooking until the liquid starts to thicken up.
02 - Pour the mix through a fine strainer to remove the solids. Press the soft cherries against the strainer to extract as much syrup as possible.
03 - Throw away the cherries and add the lemon juice, vanilla, and buttery flavorings into the syrup. Then set it aside to cool completely.
04 - Mix your cold tea with four tablespoons of the syrup per two cups of tea. Adjust the quantities to your liking or based on how much you need.
05 - Enjoy it cold and fancy it up with a few fresh cherries if you've got them!

# Notes:

01 - Store your cherry syrup in the fridge! It can stay fresh in a sealed jar for up to two weeks.
