Turn the oven on and heat it to 375°F (190°C).

In a big bowl, toss in the butter and sugar. Use a mixer to whip them all together until they look smooth.

Throw the flour and corn starch into the bowl. Blend everything up with your mixer until you get a sticky dough.

Pop the cherries and chocolate chips into the mix. Stir until they’re all spread out in the dough.

Roll up small 1-inch balls of dough and space them out on a baking sheet that doesn't stick.

Press down gently on each cookie ball with a fork to flatten them a bit.

Slide the tray into the hot oven. Let the cookies bake around 7 to 9 minutes, or until their tops stop looking wet.

Take the baking sheet out. Use a spatula to move the cookies onto a surface with parchment paper and let them cool off.
