Cherry Bars Almond Glaze (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - ¼ teaspoon almond extract
02 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
03 - 4 large eggs, room temperature
04 - 1 cup butter, softened
05 - 1 teaspoon salt
06 - 2 cups sugar
07 - 3 cups all-purpose flour

→ Filling

08 - 2 cans (21 ounces each) cherry pie filling

→ Glaze

09 - 2-3 tablespoons 2% milk
10 - ½ teaspoon almond extract
11 - 1 cup confectioners' sugar
12 - ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

# Instructions:

01 - Turn on your oven to 350°F. Whip the butter, sugar, and salt together until soft, about 5-7 minutes. Toss in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the extracts. Slowly add the flour and combine.
02 - Press 3 cups of the dough into a greased 15x10x1-inch pan. Spoon the cherry filling on top. Drop the remaining dough in small dollops over the fruit.
03 - Pop it in the oven for 35-40 minutes until it’s golden. Let it cool on a wire rack before handling.
04 - Stir the sugar, extracts, and just enough milk until it’s the consistency you want. Drizzle it over the completely cool bars.
