01 - 12 ounces Cheddar cheese, shredded
02 - 5 eggs, large
03 - 1 small onion, chopped
04 - 1 pound sausage, pork
05 - 2 pounds hash brown potatoes, frozen and thawed
06 - 1/2 cup milk
07 - 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
08 - Salt and black pepper to your liking
09 - 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

# Instructions:

01 - Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Coat an 8-inch square dish lightly with grease, then spread the thawed hash browns evenly at the bottom.
02 - In a large pan over medium heat, cook the sausage with the chopped onion. Stir now and then until the sausage is browned and crumbles apart, which takes about 10 minutes. Remove the extra fat.
03 - Crack the eggs into a big bowl and whisk them with milk, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until everything's mixed smoothly.
04 - Pour the egg mixture over the potatoes in the dish. Sprinkle on half the shredded cheese. Add the cooked sausage and onion layer, then top with the rest of the cheese. Cover tightly with foil.
05 - Bake with foil on for an hour. Take off the foil and bake another 10 minutes till a knife in the middle comes out clean.
06 - Let it sit for about 5 minutes before you dig in.

01 - Make sure your hash browns are fully thawed so they cook evenly in the oven.
02 - Use a deep dish to avoid spills when covered with foil in the oven.
