Stir barbecue sauce, teriyaki sauce, garlic, and ginger together in a medium-sized bowl. Save 1/2 cup of it for later use.

Pour the rest of the sauce over the chicken in a large bag or bowl. Let it sit in the fridge for at least 2 hours and up to 8 hours. Flip it occasionally. When ready, drain and set chicken aside.

Grab skewers and add chunks of chicken, pineapple, bell pepper, and onion. Brush them with canola oil, then sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Bring your grill to a medium temperature.

Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10 minutes, flipping every so often. The chicken should be 165°F inside. Add the saved sauce and grill for 1–2 more minutes.

Immediately enjoy the skewers while they're still warm.
