Combine ketchup, mayo, and pickles in a bowl. Stick it in the fridge for later.

Split the beef into 3 portions. Flatten them into patties slightly wider than the buns. Press your thumb in the middle to make a small dip.

Dust some salt and pepper on both sides of the patties.

Pour 1 cup of water into the bottom of the air fryer. Spray the basket with cooking spray.

Pop the patties into the air fryer at 350°F for 8 minutes. Toss the cheese on top and let it cook another 1-2 minutes until gooey.

If you'd like, toss the buns in the air fryer for a minute to toast them.

Stack the burgers with sauce, lettuce, tomato, and onion on the buns.
