01 -
Give that air fryer basket a light mist of oil spray before cooking.
02 -
Combine the buttermilk, lemon juice, pepper, and 1 tablespoon of salt in a medium bowl.
03 -
Slice the chicken into 1/2-inch thick strips about 3 to 4 inches long. Submerge them in the marinade, covering, and leave in the fridge for at least an hour, up to overnight.
04 -
In a large bowl, stir together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, baking powder, and the remaining teaspoon of salt. Pour in 1/4 cup of marinade to make clumps.
05 -
Lift the chicken strips from the marinade, shaking off what’s extra. Coat each strip in the flour mix really well.
06 -
Put 4 or 5 strips into the air fryer at once. Spray them with oil. Cook at 350°F for 6 minutes, then flip and go for another 6 minutes till they’re golden and hit 165°F inside.
07 -
Repeat frying with the rest of the strips. Add parsley on top if you like and enjoy warm with BBQ sauce on the side.
